Today I was supposed to go out and pick up my boyfriend from the Jerudong Park Ampitheatre because there's like a TelBru Let's Trek event going on over there. I was so ecstatic that I'm finally going to go out and see my boyfriend after a bit. Sadly, my hopes got crushed when their system was going into error so we had to cancel our day's plan. So now I'm sulking about it at home. Adding to that, my dad borrowed my car to go and get a haircut. So I'm stuck at home. lalalala~~

With everything that I am and am not, I most certainly am confident that "perfect" is beyond my reach. If anything, I am the most imperfect being in the whole universe. I may have two eyes, two ears, one nose, a set of lips, a face, complete body parts to sum that up. Physically complete. Mentally, I am still at that point of learning to crawl. I make mistakes and it's only human. I loved a man. He was beyond perfect (in my eyes). But I always find ways to mess things up, even with the littlest of things.

Today I gave up on myself. Surrendered completely, waving that white flag of defeat. I don't know what to do with my life truthfully speaking. Everything just gets into my mind and wrecks havoc. As I type this down, nothing makes sense to me.

I believe that I am possibly the most annoyingly sensitive person I have EVER known. People piss me off so easily. All they have to do is:

step 1 - be my friend

step 2 - get close to me enough to make me open up to them

step 3 - ignore me entirely after they find new friends to 'confide in'

I mean, come on. I think I have this sort of mental instability that is so innate in my personality. Of course, most people don't get me or why I am the way I am, and of course I won't tell them that onion layer of myself. A cousin of mine told me a few days ago that I can be too honest sometimes and the people that don't understand me would just hate me without even trying. I swear I try hard to keep what ever I'm thinking of all to myself, but it either shows transparently on my face or my mind just feels like it's about to explode. Therefore, I usually say what's on my mind. Sometimes directly, most times indirectly, to the intended people. I would LOVE to tell them to their face though, but if it gets other people that are important in my life in trouble, then I'd pretty much just indirectly try pissing them off, or annoy them, basically on twitter.

As the saying goes, "why care about someone else's feelings when they don't care about your own".

If it wasn't for the hectic crazy life-style we live in today, we'd be as boring as a mat or as confusing as a tomato (is it a fruit? is a veggie?). We crave for excitement too much, that's why we pee in the open when we think no one's looking (not that I've done that before. yet.). Always searching for the next big thing, from friendster (wow, that's ancient), to facebook (getting old), to twitter (ahh.. the prescription to my addiction). Blogger has long been forgotten ever since the rise of tumblr, yet I still blog (What's my point?), the fact that it isn't so crowded in blogspot world anymore, it has become once again interesting to me. Like plaid shirts that have (by now) gone somewhat out of style. This is beside the point, but I'm not quite sure what point I'm trying to make. I guess it was just for the sake of posting something into my almost-dead-but-almost-on-the-way-to-revival blog....... or was it?

I have been inspired by a recent coursework project that we've been given for language and the media... A friend and I are having thoughts on whether or not to start our own magazine. It was a crazy week finishing the project, but I guess it was well worth it, especially if we managed to get an A for it (amin). We made the mistake of creating a whole magazine instead of just making the 5 important parts of a magazine, but we came through with the knowledge of how to make it as a whole now, which is so totally awesome. If I was able to post the magazine here, I would, but alas, I cannot. Maybe I'll make a new one, just for fun of it and post it here as an online magazine. Maybe, maybe. Maybe later than sooner though. Assignments are piling up like Bukit Belalong. Later amigos.

Inspiration. That's all I am in need of right now. An idea of what to write about. I often choose topics I think I can deal with, but later find out that I can't, at the very last minute when changes can no longer be made. I don't know why I always put myself in this kind of situation, over and over again. It's like a cycle. Like a clock that spins back and forth, and you see all the people going in backward and forward motion, over and over again. Like a broken record playing the same tune, skips, and plays again, skips, and plays again. Repetition is unavoidable, at the very least, it is unexpected. You don't exactly expect a jack-in-the-box to pop open holding a knife and stabbing you right between the eyes, do you?

People always assume they know me, assume they can read my mind, my actions, my habits. They never really do. It annoys me to the highest degree when people do this. They assume I'm dumb. They never assume how much I observe them, their body-language, their mannerisms. I know when someone's trying to fake themselves. It can be really transparent. Seriously.

P.s: People with nasal voices annoy the crap out of me.

So as I was waiting for sleep to come last night, I laid down in my bed thinking to myself about the random conversations I've had with friends these past few weeks and it made me realize that

- women who say that they don't like bitching about other people are either lying to people, or, ultimately, lying to themselves.

why i think so? because somehow women feel a sense of solace when they let their pent up frustrations out in the form of bitching. and also because I think it's fun. :p Women love gossip, whether they realize it or not. So they are more than willing to lend a helping "ear" to listen to whatever another person has to say about someone else. =)

Being a student of sociolinguistics has pretty much opened my eyes much much wider when it comes to looking at the world and the way it works. You notice how people prefer to use vernacular speech as opposed to standardized languages. Often people practice the accommodation theory more than they realize it. What is that you ask? To put it simply, it's just a way for one person to seek approval from the other one by trying to sound like them. For instance, in Brunei itself, I've known a few people to do that. Like this one person who often puts on a British accent just so she can sound like the caucasian person she's having a conversation with. haha. I used to think that being more fluent in English was so much more better than in Brunei-Malay. Of course that was the mindset of a seventeen year old. -__- After reaching my late-late teens I realised that being a Brunei-Malay was what I was born into, and I should embrace it. Never mind all the other mixed ethnic blood i have flowing through my veins. People often think that their mother-tongue languages were meant to be genetically ingrained into their system and hard-wired so deep that it would be passed on into the next generations to come without even realizing that it is actually something that needs to be taught and practiced on. How many of us know old words from our Brunei-Malay existence? Standard Malay has been prioritized so much in the education system and all the other systems that Brunei dialects are slowly disappearing one by one. Very few people in Belait know how to speak the Belait dialect now, and the Tutong language isn't so far behind from it. It saddens me of the fact that language endangerment is inevitable everywhere. More than 6000 languages around the world and only 9% of it is being used in mainstream society, and people still go about their everyday lives, unconscious of this fact.

I'm here, just rambling on about the things that are still stuck in my mind. Don't mind me. =)

Mizah turned 20 last Tuesday, 17th November, so the family decided to have a mini birthday gathering. Hakim's dad got him new lighting equipment so we tested it out. Pretty cool what it can do. I'm just really bad at lighting, for now. I was supposed to go to Naz's surprise birthday that Zeera and Penny arranged but I couldn't, family comes first, no? We ended up going back from Mizah's at around 12. Nadia wanted to do a cover on Kings of Leon's "use somebody", the boys managed to get the chords right but we ended up just singing and not recording. Would be funny if we did though.

So i watched Orphan.... and I thought it sucked. Not that it was bad or anything, just that I felt like it was dragging on way too long. -__- I don't get why people think it's "the bomb" and better than Paranoramal Activities (not that i've watched that yet, still waiting for the bluray rip download to be available). I also watched 500 Days of Summer, and I thought the girl was a bitch for leading him on, not that we have a right to be angry at the ending though, the narrator DID say that it ISN'T a love story, I guess I was just looking for a good cry and I didn't get it. What I got was a disgruntled mix of emotions. HAHA anyway, exams are starting next week and I finish on a Sunday Morning. -__- which is so not fair. Who's ever heard of an exam on a sunday? sigh. At least it's just Spanish that day. I just can't wait for the inter-semester break. =( I need a vacation. Ah vell~~ a few more veeks. =)

So exam season's starting in about 3 weeks... i barely understand any of the courses i've taken this semester. Of course I understand my intro to modern lit. it's basically reading the stories and interpreting it through my perception. Spanish is just basically simple words, but I have trouble remembering the right grammar for that. =s an oral interview for that would be in week 14. ah well... all this and all i can think about is the upcoming inter-semester break. Mega mega photography session for me. I'd have to look for projects to do then. Only my closest friends are volunteering for now. sigh. we'll see... we'll see...

So this place has not been active for god knows how long, somehow I don't really care much anymore to update, but, nonetheless, here I am, posting up an entry. Life has been very much hectic. What with all the eid mubarak celebration going on right now, that, however, is over for me. So now I'm back with assignments that I have yet to start. A presentation to be done on Saturday has not been prepared, 2 essays due on monday.... have not been looked at. Another presentation in the next 2 mondays to come to prepare for is probably going to be touched soon since it's modern lit =s I made bad option subject choices this semester I guess. owh well, at least I'm going through new things. Owh yes, I finally bought an EF 50mm f.1/8 II lens for my canon a few days before the first day of raya. =) I am content with it i guess. Just waiting for my infrared filter lens and lens hood to arrive. Next on my list would be a vertical battery grip so my 1000D doesn't look so tiny anymore. I feel so under-equipped. Not that I'm that serious with this photography thing in professional terms anyway. But it is intimidating when I stand next to someone that's clicking away with a very high-tech camera. I guess after getting the vertical battery grip I'd want to get another flash. OOookaaaayyy... I miss dibs, I haven't seen her online on msn yet. Owh well~ To the friends that I didn't get to send off at the airport, SORRY!! either I didn't know what time your flight was or I was busy. OR in mahirah's case, I came a little too late. =S

Funny how people don't blog anymore. A year ago, this was the in-thing. The shit. The BOMB man! Now facebook's pretty much got all their attention. Next on the list would probably be the poklenization of Tumblr. It's sad how people don't update their blogs as much, and I'm no exclusion from this. Words just become so hard to blurt out at times I guess. I'd LOVE to rant. But if I did rant the things that were locked up in my head, I'd probably get into trouble, even if there were no names written. Such phrases as "jangan memalukan orang ani bah" or "hilang harga diri orang ulih mu" would be inserted as often as much in lectures given to me. Oh well~ they say this is a free country, but what is a free country without freedom of speech? Even if it is all personal. Life is just so so funny that way I guess. Atleast I don't have to read about mind-numbingly detailed entries of "The things I did today", or how some girls emphasize the fact that they so love being labelled as a "bimbo".

I guess I'm just writing in an entry now because I have nothing better to do, adding to the fact that I have so much pent up frustrations of how my life is going right now. At least there are those who keep me sane. Without a doubt, I do not need to mention their names here.

So here I am sitting in my room totally out of ideas. My cousin's friend asked me when I planned to have the next photoshoot and where, and I'm sitting here raking my brain for themes I could do that haven't been done by Bruneians. But so far I've come up with nil, zero, zilch, nada. How how? I've thought of face-paints but then again, I've done that before but with a sony ericsson phone instead of a camera. Turned out alright anyway. I'd like to try anime characters, but that's a little hard to copy. I like seeing the way the boys in that japanese movie "C.R.O.W.S.-O" dressed. I'm not much of a fan when it comes to japanese movies and such, but this particular movie was quite interesting, in a silly way. Moreover, my friends won't go for that sort of shoot. Unless I fully supply the stuff on my own, which sucks on my end cz I always do.

So my mind's in the gutter at the moment. I need to take more pictures of girls, but I don't have that much of female companions and the ones that I do have are either camera shy orrrr not so much camera material. =S Beauty's in the eye of the beholder and I barely see any. The ones that think that they're model material are.. well.. not my kind of beauty. I may be a girl but I know a beautiful woman when I see one, because I won't be able to stop staring at her.

So the yayasan tunnel's now overrated because a lot of people have discovered it and taken waaaaaaaayyy too many pictures there and I did the masked people pictures there already. Maybe I should try Kg. Ayer? But I'd probably crawl on the walk-ways.

It's 10.52am right now and I've been awake since 2.30am. I've been WIDE awake. The prospects of sleep fade away as time passes by. Luckily the wireless was on by 7 and I've been online ever since. I started cleaning my room by then, rearranging what little furniture I had in my room. I took out my stereo and TV. I barely turn them on anyway, so why should I let them take up the very little space I have in my tiny room. I even spray painted my shelf a little. Metallic black just turns plain black on wood. Oh well... I'm not one to complain. I'm just trying to find ways to tire myself out and fall asleep. But then again, my bed's still fully occupied with... things. Talk about doing things half-way ey? I'm contemplating as to whether or not I should put away the teddy bears I got myself a few years ago. Yes, I got them myself. Sad.

I was in facebook earlier, and I didn't realise that I became a fan of Kim Kardashian until moments ago when I saw that she posted something that turned up in my homepage. Porn video aside, I still think Kim Kardashian's hot.

Speaking of hot, my room feels that way and I'm sweating like an overworked go-go dancer.

And owh, I just knew that Mya had a new album released last year. I always loved her music. You guys should listen to her "Back To Disco" or "Let's Go To War" if you're into dancing beats. She also did a cover of "Shy Guy" in her new album.

I was feeling nostalgic when I woke up so early this morning, I ended up listening to TLC's "Damaged". Somehow I feel like I relate to that song pretty hard. The words slice right through like a knife. "Waterfalls" is definitely still one of my personal favourites. Left-eye's bit was pretty inspirational, to a point. I find that My life right now isn't much of a muse to me. It isn't interesting. It isn't epitomizing anything the way it usually did.

So little time, and much of it wasted. I have no idea what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. I guess it's all for the fun of it. Here I am spilling out whatever is coming to mind, every word, every sentence. It may end up at random like it's starting to. The first exam paper's coming soon. *sighs* MIB on monday, 8am. Killer. I haven't been so so good lately. Haven't been preppy me for a bit now. *if i ever was preppy*. I just finished studying for my logic paper which would be the day after MIB. I'll revise it back again monday night. *pause**mind going blank*. I'm stressed. I truly am. Actually no, I'm not. I don't know how I'm feeling right at this moment. I need to get kain raya. =s I don't know when I should go though, or who to drag along with me. I miss my boyfriend, my superglue. He's gone to sleep early tonight. Espeed has been sucking monkey balls the past week. Actually the past month. I wonder why. Owh well, I'm not one to complain, I still have my zoom broadband anyway. I need new pictures. =( That's the only way I can relieve stress. I just can't seem to find anyone who would or could pose for me at anytime. Wafiy's always busy lately. *sigh* maybe next time then. I should just go surfing on facebook or bloghopping and steal pictures from people like I usually do. from friends actually. I don't take the pictures of random people. I think this one girl thinks I would take her pictures from her blog. But I'd never. 1. because I don't know her, and 2. because I think she's fugly. No, I'm not being mean. I really do think she looks unattractive. to me. If I ever were a guy or I ever were gay. I'd never choose her. I like looking at beautiful people and beautiful things, and I know beautiful when I see it. Do I think I'm shallow? No, because who the hell wants to take pictures of fugly people and fugly things. Of course I'd think I'm not shallow. You might still think I am. I don't really care much about the negative thoughts that you channel into your brain. You and I are both people and people aren't meant to be perfect. Those that strive for pure perfection become less and less perfect. Ironic no? Owh well... This is probably the longest post I've done in a long time. I'm waiting for my download to finish. I miss watching The Queen of The Damned, I can't seem to find the dvd anywhere in my room. Atleast downloading it is always an option. I miss my friends. My dodgies. June's coming soon and they'll all be back in Brunei. *hoorah* I really can't wait for the reunion. My vain friends that I love so much. I just hope we have enough time to spend with each other. It's 1.25am at this exact moment, on this exact line and I'm going on and on about nothing at all. I wish i was a better person, but then I'm not, so why bother? I miss talking to dibs, to mahirah. I miss talking to hadismash too. Mahirah's a million miles away so the only way to reach her would either be skype or msn. But we normally go on msn. I barely skype anymore. Dibs and Hadismash are just a text away but they both seem to be busy with their own lives. I'm here, with only wafiy to depend on for a conversation, though not decent ones all the time. At times it's just a 15minute conversation if he's been at school doing assignments from morning to night time and he gets tired out, at times if i'm lucky more than that. But I've been seeing a lot more lately for lunch, dinner sometimes. He also hangs out at my house again from time to time when he isn't busy or if he doesn't have any tests the following day. He's all that I need really, but sometimes I feel lonely for a little friendship too. a little girly gossip with my bestfriends. or just gossip cz Hadismash's a guy. I miss bitching with hafiiz too. That boy can really bitch about a person when he feels like it.

I loved the feel of adrenaline, the atmosphere was catching. The crowd, unbelievable. To be feeling the glory for a moment, an instant, was utterly amazing. Football, ladies and gentlemen, is truly the most beautiful game ever invented my man. Last night's game was absolutely worth the shouting, and definitely worth the $5 spent on tickets. First few minutes into the game DPMM made their first score and I was lucky enough to capture it, though it isn't as clear as I want it to be, what with only a 18-55mm lens, that won't do the trick. But hey, I caught it. The game finished with DPMM scoring 2 while SAFFC scored only 1 goal after one of the DPMM players received a red card towards the end of the game.
Next match I shall see would be after the exams. a big fat sigh for that. owh well.

What should I say to fill this blog up? It seems that this blog has gone to snoozeville and I update my facebook way too often to even care much about this blog. Anyway, exams are coming in a week's time and I have yet to start revising for it. MIB's going to be a toughie for me. I wish i knew how to converse in "bahasa dalam", it would be so much easier. And there's a 25 mark essay to be written in the exam for that paper. I'm worried more about my grammar and my phonetics, seeing as I received my first E for my third test on phonetics. I just hope I can atleast score a C for my overall mark. I'm not even sure if i would be able to sit for the MIB paper, what with me being confused whether I've missed 2 classes, or 3. I'd be ever so hopeful if it were just 2 classes. I don't want to be in deeper shit than I already am. Resitting for MIB next semester isn't an option for me. Sigh.. owh well.. I guess I really don't have much to say. No one ever reads my blog anyway.

These pictures were taken last saturday before I had my fever. Yes, i do think this was the reason why I had the fever. We stayed out til about midnight to take these pictures and by the time we went out of the tunnel to move to another location, the rain was drizzling and the night mist isn't exactly a good thing. :s now I am almost fully recovered, but the fever set me back 4 days behind schedule and I have 2 overdue assignments and 2 tests on the same day to study for. I'm in deep shit. Logic and phonetics on the same day is so uncool. Anyway, do enjoy the pictures. =)

I just felt like doing this again to kill time. So anyway.

1. I don't like it when a person tries to make other feel pity for them. Don't try it on me, cz I'll just get annoyed by you. Life's cruel, that's how it's meant to be. Shut up and live through it. Other people've gone waaaayyy worse than you have. Believe me.

2. I don't get along well with people who have the inability to see life and the world in a wider perspective.

3. I don't take disrespect lightly. You give respect to earn respect.

4. I don't like when guys they think girls can only be feminine and weak. I hate it even more when see girls as pieces of meat. Just because women express themselves through clothing that are slightly revealing doesn't mean that they're sluts men could just hump.

5. I get p.m.s. just like all the rest of you women. I feel the body aches, the irritation AND annoyance when other people are being stupid, which you can normally tolerate. So don't be calling me a bitch if i act out when you're acting stupid.

6. When p.m.s.ing, I can only tolerate so much, and if i'm concentrating a lot on something already, don't try making me concentrate on something else that is completely irrelevant.

7. I'm territorial. Wafiy's mine. Don't be calling him "baby" or whatever name related to it. Respect the fact that he's MINE.

8. I hate easily. I have a whole sack filled with rotten potatoes of hate.

9. I don't like the thought of infidelity. It's too painful, unfair and stupid. I know a lot of people who are infidels. Why be with someone and say you love them then turn around and be saying that to someone else? Siuk tah tu? How would you feel if you were cheating on the one you love, the one you "want to marry", only to end up with them finding out and leaving you? "more fish in the sea" you say? pfft. Taie lah.

Upon receiving my first Grammar 2 Assignment back this afternoon I beamed from ear to ear. The fact is, I've never gotten a C for any grammar assignment before and this came as a shocker that I just couldn't help smiling. I think I'm pretty daft when it comes to grammar. Not that I don't know how to write properly. It's just confusing, what with all the terms and such used to describe words, sentences, clauses or whatever else. I just wish that my work can be more than mediocre or just okay. It's frustrating. After all the effort you put into it and all you get is a friggin' D most of the time. I'm just happy I've infiltrated that invisible wall, even if it's just for that one moment, one paper.

The moon is shining bright tonight. Sigh.. The only time I didn't bring my camera, there's beauty worth capturing. I kept staring at it as I drove to and from ITB and back to give something to Wafiy. It was a pretty captivating sight, would've made an interesting picture to see. But alas, I got unlucky tonight, and I'm too lazy to go back and forth. The test this afternoon has gotten me all tired out mentally and driving would make it worse. So I'm just going to rant, somewhat, here to let out my frustrations, a little, to give space in my head for the next test. Grammar on Saturday in the afternoon. I have yet to touch my grammar file and it isn't an appealing thought to do so right now. I am sleep deprived. So sleep deprived that I look like a racoon with the dark circles under my eyes. My room is littered with papers on Logic's chapter 6 exercises. The True and false truth values written across them repeatedly with all the tildes, dots, wedges, horseshoes and triple bars. God. I need to do something to get my mind off of logic. Sleep? hmmm... tempting. Anyhoo, I'm out. I don't think I'm making any sense right now.

As I draw to a close the curtains to another chapter of my life I begin to realise the things I've been through during the past year. The many decisions I had to make that led to where I am so far. Regret is the lowest most bottom emotion I am feeling. I'm not even remotely close to it. Growing up has widened my perspective on things and the people around me have grown me in a sense that is purely indescribable. I guess.

Anyway, unnecessary ramblings aside, I watched wafiy play football earlier with his coursemates from ITB's CIS department. They went against the M.E department. Amazingly abang daniel was playing against wafiy. hee~ why do i say that? it's been years since I've seen him chase a ball, let alone kick one. hahaha.. alright alright, here are a few pictures. just a few. make that 2. I officially turned 21 last thursday. With Wafiy in singapore for 5 days I had no idea what i was going to do for my birthday, what with it being the middle of the month and a lot of people were broke. So the plan originally was to have dinner with my closest friends at Red chili. Unfortunately, 2 days before that the flood happened and the whole of kiulap and gadong were without electricity. Thursday came, Nadi suggested Jerudong, so Aladdin it was. No shisha though.. just food and drinks. hahaa.. Original expected number of people were about... 13 people? But 7 bailed out last minute and we were left with 6. I had fun anyway, at least i wasn't alone for my birthday.

One often wonders about the question of loyalty in these modern times. It seems as though it has almost become extinct, wherein which you no longer see the people around you staying faithful to one another. Infidelity is at its high and backstabbing is pretty much a common thing now. Look around people, and you will see at least one person is with another or is friends with another person just for their money, their benefits, their ability to let others indulge in material things. What is the point of being friends with someone you don't even like just because their drive a fancy car, overly spend money on you, is a total bitch to you, and all the other things that just get on your nerves? What kind of "friend" would you be? I guess greed and gluttony would be the main source of such actions. Once a person turns their back on the pack euphemisms start flying in their direction. 'Tis a tsk tsk moment you see. Ladies and gentlemen, why waste your life in such ordeals when life is just so evanescent? Your life may cease to exist the next time you blink.

12th January was the beginning of the second semester of my first year in UBD. The first class I had got me both hyped up and bummed out at the same time.
1. It was linguistics
2. We have a new lecturer, Professor Paroo Nihalani (he's awesome in a funny way)
3. We're going to study socio-linguistics (awesome!)
4. Every Monday linguistics lecture we have to be prepared to transcribe words into its phonetic spelling (uh-oh)
5. We'll have MORE work this semester (more work = a decrease in sleeping time because we're lazy bums who do work at the last minute no matter how many times we say we're going to improve this semester. LOL)

Sekalikan, second class kami was Logic & Thinking II punya lecture. Inilah gambar kawan-kawan sejatiku yang di UBD. LOL. Efah, Fatim, Farid. They be funn~~ except si farid, ia banyak cakap, ngalih di layan. HAHA. sorry dude. Kau Kawan ku masih. hahaha..

Aku lupa telipun kau balik lapas cakap sama bapa ku. =p We talked on skype for about half an hour I think, I like her lights. hahaha.. Rambut mu lawa. Rambut ku cali.
